Week 4: Geology of the Hawaiian Islands - Kilauea to Haleakalā

Week 5: Central Iceland - Laugavegur – A Geological Trek from the Icelandic Highlands to the Sea

Instructor: Andrew Koenigsberg  has a BA in Geology from Cornell University and an MS in Geology from the University of New Orleans. He started his career as a petroleum geologist in the early 1980s. He switched over to environmental and engineering geology after moving to Massachusetts in 1986 and worked on several Superfund Remediation projects. Along the way, Andy specialized in hydrogeology which encompasses the interaction of soils and rock with hydrologic processes. Andy taught hydrogeology at UMass Lowell and Tufts University. He has given lectures to various organizations, led numerous geology field trips, and run workshops on hydrogeology and wetlands for the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions. Andy still works part-time as a hydrogeologist. He lives in Westborough with his wife Robin.
